Peace Vs Success

Are successful people at peace..rather do they have peace.? or let's put it this way,  what does success mean to you? I treasure my peace of mind much more than anything else. When i do anything, anything at all from eating, moving, breathing, business deal; if and when i have my peace of mind at the end of it all; i think i have succeeded in that which i was engaging myself in..

One of my 'successful' friends (i would like to call him that) asked me the other day, "is it that i made it too early?' he asked me this because he does not have his peace of mind; oh, he got lots of money, changed enough cars since i met him, he's been through a divorce and he's in my age set( i don't believe i'm old yet), he is involved in several business deals running nconcurrently and he is the director.(what could be the problem)

You should see this guy when he does not have money, by this i mean he's been asked for almost 100,000 kenya shillings to replace his gear box in one of his cars that he loves so very much; he will not sleep, not eat, his world will stop if only his car will not get that new gearbox replaced and maybe he wants to drive down to mombasa for the weekend. (i am not pulling anyone's leg now)

When he asked me whether has has made it too early all i asked him was, "do you think you've had it all?' is that all he was living for? the money, the big nice house, the super nice lady who married him for his money and later left him, the holidays down at the united Arab emirates, the" LIFE"?
I mean, people have lost insight, we got lost somewhere on our way up, is it the way we were brought up? why don't we ever listen? or do we listen but we just never never understand? let me tell you something interesting about human beings that i found out, 'as long as something is happening to someone else, we have no way of feeling the same; sharing the weighty feeling.' be it in joy or in sorrow.

We have a totally messed up way of looking at things, we have grown selfish (only purely thinking of self and how one can benefit themselves), we have lost all humanity (i know i was on the verge of losing all), we engage in anything that is helpful to us and we've become short-sighted and lost hope; people have stopped dreaming; young people have started taking a day at a time(which is a good principle) but what about a vision, a dream, that should be fuelling the hard life; the disappointments we come across day in, day out....

Its sad, really really sad, from my heart... i could go on and on and on.....XOXO
